the tune was made for fuel that is no longer available. The 10% ethanol now in the fuel causes the mixture to be out of range for the stock narrow band at idle with the factory tune, so the 02 looks like it is not responding. If you actually look at the fuel table in the program, it is a closed loop cell. When the air fuel is the proper range with good sensors, they do control the idle mixture well. I have worked on these cars every day since they new, the 02 sensors did respond well at idle with the fuel that was available in the 90's with the factory tune. All the NA factory tunes are way off and crazy lean with today's fuel. If you do any mods that allow more flow such as intakes and exhaust,the factory tunes is even farther off. Also when the sensors get old and lasy, they do not respond well at low flow. No problem making a tune for your NA, all are chip tunes use closed loop idle, only time we run idle in open loop is on a custom tune when someone wants a smoother idle than the closed loop idle will allow.
